A Bit of Background
Northeast Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition at a Glance
The NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition is a partnership with staff and PTAs from Crescent Heights Elementary, NE Tacoma Elementary, Browns Point Elementary, and Meeker Middle School, along with additional community partners that is focused on providing weekend meals to students and other basic needs supports to students in need in our community. Students receiving assistance from the NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition are identified by the principal and counseling team at each participating school. Confidentiality is an essential value of the program. The Coalition does not keep a wait list, and has expanded to serve every student identified by school staff as needing food assistance. We are so grateful for the many ways our local community has stepped up to serve local students during the COVID-19 pandemic and we continue to work with our local schools to identify needs and to adapt our program to safely meet those needs!
Donate your time
For the start of the 2020-2021 school year, all monthly packing and delivery dates are canceled for the safety of our community and our volunteers. We look forward to resuming volunteer opportunities as soon as we are safely able to do so.
If you would like to support our 2020 Holiday Help program by donating gifts and/ or holiday meal supplies, please email us at email@example.com to receive updates. Thank you!
Make a financial contribution
Make a financial donation to the NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition (donations are received through Browns Point PTA which is a 501(c)(3)). This is the quickest way for you to support our efforts. The Coalition can then use funds to purchase food supplies and other basic needs support to serve our families. Your donation is tax-deductible! If you would like to make a donation via check, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
Donate Non-Perishable Food and Hygiene Items
Ship food and hygiene products to the Coalition via our Amazon Wish List. Items will be shipped to a residential address so we can continue to receive donations during this time. However, please keep in mind that many of items we collect are out of stock. If you are unable to purchase food or hygiene products from our Amazon Wish List, consider making a financial donation.
